Casa Amapola is an impressive villa in a spectacular setting, situated on the southern edge of the village of Gaucin. The location is truly wonderful with a 180 degree, uninterrupted view of the surrounding countryside. Down to the Genal River valley to the Mediterranean and North Africa beyond. The villa is beautifully maintained with an infinity pool, exotic gardens full of palms, rocks and shrubs. Wild olive and carob trees also fill the outdoor areas, with manicured pathways and various secluded areas to relax and enjoy. The villa is well equipped for your holiday plus private parking for two cars. There are no close neighbours so the villa is wonderfully secluded within the village. Casa Amapola is perfect for a family or a group seeking space and tranquillity.
The charming entrance courtyard sets the scene for this villa, filled with vibrant flowers and potted plants. As you enter, the complexity of the villa is apparent, with various levels leading to different areas of the house. Stepping down you enter the heart of the house, the living area, with comfortable seating, an open fire place, bright rugs, Moroccan pots and high ceilings. Large French doors lead to the main covered terrace area with views that will truly amaze you.
There is Satellite TV with a video library, plenty of books and games to enjoy plus wifi.
Kitchen / Dining Area
Beside the living area is a large indoor dining room seating up to ten people. The main terrace extends to an additional outdoor shaded dining area, perfect for summer nights. The kitchen is also located here, fully equipped for your holiday with a dishwasher, fridge freezer, 4 ring gas hob, microwave, coffee maker, blender and juicer plus plenty of dishes and utensils. There is an additional laundry room with a washing machine, iron and board. There is a child’s highchair should you require one.
Three of the bedrooms are located in the main house and a further two are accessed by an outside staircase. The three bedrooms in the main house all have en-suite bathrooms and French windows leading to a balcony, all enjoying the spectacular 180 degree views. Two of these bedrooms have double beds and the third bedroom is a twin room (two single beds) plus a sofa bed/futon.
The additional two rooms are in their own private annexe with a kitchenette and shared bathroom with shower. One of these bedrooms has a king bed and French windows leading to a balcony. The second room has a double bed.
Linen and fresh towels are provided plus hairdryers, soap and the basic necessities. All of the bedrooms are comfortable and fresh with tasteful furnishings.
From the terrace, steps take you down to the infinity pool, 8m x 4m with an underwater ledge where you can sit and look at the beautiful wild countryside and over to Africa on a clear day. The pool area is completely secluded with sunbeds and umbrellas plus a shaded area with table and chairs. The outside is well maintained with plenty of secret spots, terraces, mature trees and spectacular views. The gardener will visit early morning in the summer months to water the pots and clean the pool. Pool towels are provided and a gas barbeque is available for use.
Please be aware that there are steeps steps to the pool area and various steps throughout the villa so we do recommend careful supervision of toddlers and young children.

Casa Amapola is located in the village, set on the extreme edge and yet within a few minutes walk to the centre of the village. Access to the house is a fairly easy drive through the village and there is private parking for 2 cars and additional parking can be found on the nearby street. The village of Gaucin has traditional tapas bars and delightful restaurants. There are also plenty of shops to be found along the narrow streets with local produce, plus larger general stores and a pharmacy, local banks and a health food shop.
Gaucin is perfectly situated in the Andalucian Mountains to enjoy both the cultural and historic cities and the buzz and glamour of the coastal towns. The mountains provide a sense of peace with wonderful walks, horse riding and many other cultural activities and art filled pleasures. The coast being so close also allows you to explore and have some fun on the water, take your pick of many Golf courses or indulge in the boutiques and nightlife.
