Casa Poleo sits on the outskirts of  Jimena de la Frontera,  along a country track with fields of horses, cork forests and wild surrounding countryside.  As you drive under the beautiful mature trees that engulf the track you arrive at this lovely house where there are two resident donkeys and a wonderful countryside atmosphere.  Through the large old Spanish doors and into the open plan living area you are instantly surprised by the fabulous views through the large windows;  lovely terraces and gardens rolling down  to the private pool area and more gardens beyond.  All the bedrooms are to one side of this single storey villa, making holiday living easy.  The space inside is beautiful and comfortable, designed with style.  This is such a wonderful space for a large family looking for peace and privacy but within walking distance to local bars, shops and the nearby train station of Jimena where you can easily take day trips to other towns and villages, dotted around these stunning mountains of Andalucia.

Living/Dining Area

The impressive double wooden Spanish doors take you into the main area of the house.  There are two living areas and a dining area all within an open plan space.  The main living area is beautifully decorated with large wall to wall windows that look out over the views of the countryside.  There are plenty of sofas to relax in and an open fireplace.  This also leads out onto one of the multiple terrace areas that surround the house.  Behind this is the dining area with a table to seat up to ten.  Another relaxing space alongside has two lovely sofas with a coffee table and looks out to the main open terrace area where al fresco dining and outdoor living during the hot summer months is an essential.  This whole area is wonderful; spacious, light and airy.  There is also wifi access, television with DVD player, books for you to enjoy plus ceiling fans, stand alone fans and electric radiators in this room and other areas of the house. 

Kitchen

The kitchen is to one side of the main open plan area.  It is large enough for cooking a feast and has all the utensils and cooking materials you will need.  This includes a double oven with five ring gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, large fridge freezer, sandwich toaster and other essentials.  This room gives  onto more terrace space where there is an extra outdoor eating table.  This terrace then leads around the front of the house and then to the back where the bedrooms can be found. 

Bedrooms

All the bedrooms are accessed off the main living area, the opposite side of the kitchen entrance.  The master bedroom has its own private living space - separate from the bedroom area – and its own large bathroom with walk in shower, bath and double basin unit.  There are two french windows leading out onto the main terrace and to the other side of the house.  

There are four more twin bedrooms all with two single beds and each has its own french doors leading onto a terrace.  Each pair of these twin rooms shares a bathroom.

Outside

The outside terraces and gardens surround the house with fantastic spaces for children and adults to enjoy and explore.  The house is set on a slight hillside so the garden cascades down to the private pool area where there is a gazebo and more flat land for fun and the energetic.  There are terraces that run around the back of the house with different areas to relax.  There is a covered area leading off the kitchen with an outdoor table and beyond a small lookout chill area.  The main terrace area leads off the open plan living area.  This is covered with flowers running above and down the sides of the gazebo.  There are plenty of comfortable chairs and an additional outdoor dining table.  All these areas on the back of the house enjoy the peaceful views over the countryside.  Small terrace areas also run around the entire house giving each room access to the outside.  The outside is fabulous and full of life and colour with superbly well maintained gardens.

Extra Details:

Casa Poleo is located in the countryside on the outside of a village called Jimena de la Frontera, 25 minutes drive from Sotogrande and 45 minutes to the village of Gaucin.  A short walk takes you to the Estacion de Jimena where you can take the train to Ronda, Granada or other nearby white villages in the mountains of Andalucia.  You can also enjoy the international music festival in Jimena, held every year in July.  A car is recommend when booking this villa.   Access to the house is along a private track and parking is available on the grounds.  The village of Jimena de la Frontera has traditional tapas bars and delightful restaurants.  There are also plenty of shops to be found along the narrow streets with local produce, plus larger general stores and a pharmacy.  

Jimena is perfectly situated in the Andalucian Mountains to enjoy both the cultural and historic cities and the buzz and glamour of the coastal towns.  The mountains provide a sense of peace with wonderful walks, horse riding and many other cultural activities and art filled pleasures.  The coast being so close also allows you to explore and have some fun on the water, take your pick of many Golf courses or indulge in the boutiques and nightlife.  For more details on Jimena and the surrounding areas please see the JamPot Villas Explore page or feel free to email.

Travel

Travelling to Jimena

We recommend you fly into Malaga or Gibraltar .  Gibraltar is approximately 59.7km to Jimena de la Frontera and Malaga is approximately 149 km to Jimena de la Frontera.  Check out skyscanner  to compare prices.  You can even fly to Jerez or Seville.  

We do recommend hiring a car while you are out here, the journey from either airport is not hard.  You can take in some of the breathtaking scenery on the way to Gaucin and the Andalucian Mountains.  

Travelling from Malaga and need a car?  Check out Sixt Car Rental.. Travelling from Gibraltar airport?  Walking across the border to Spain is quick and easy and takes you to the town of La Linea.  For car hire check out, Europcar   la Linea.

Prices, Booking and Cancellation Policies

Prices are inclusive of 5 hours per week of house keeping.
This property is available to rent from March through to October.
Changeover day is a Friday.
Arrival time is 4pm unless previously agreed with the agent.
The property must be vacated by 11am.
All linen is provided and a change of linen will be provided on rentals of more than one week.
If you require extra house keeping or cooking this can be arranged with the lovely house keeper Gloria, please let us know in advance.  Any extra hours will be payable local to Gloria.


Booking Policy:

30% deposit will be required on booking.
Final 70% must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to arrival.  If your holiday commences in less than 8 weeks or if the total value of your booking is less than £200.00 / €250.00 full payment will be due when you book.

Once your reservation deposit has been received Jampot Villas will send you a booking confirmation which confirms the contract between you and the owners of the house.  If we do not receive the balance by the date outlined (8 weeks prior to arrival), we reserve the right to cancel your booking and levy the cancellation charges that are set out in the 'Cancellation Policy'.


Cancellation Policy:

If for any reason you need to cancel your booking, you must inform Jampot Villas by telephone and by email.  Your cancellation will be confirmed upon receipt of email.  If receipt of cancellation is received more than 8 weeks prior to the start of your rental date then you will forfeit your deposit.  If received within 8 to 2 weeks before the start of your rental date you will forfeit your deposit plus 40% of the total rental price will be charged.  If received within 2 weeks before the start of your rental date then you will forfeit your deposit plus the remainder 70% will be charged (the full amount is payable).

In the unlikely case that JamPot Villas has to cancel a booking we will notify you immediately and try to offer an alternative. In case of non-acceptance of the alternative by the renter, JamPot Villas will reimburse the renter all payments made and the renter loses any rights other than the reimbursement of payments made.

We do advise that you purchase suitable personal and travel insurance to cover the risk of cancellation due to ill health or force majeure.  


Damage Deposits:

Certain properties require a Damage Deposit, the amount (outlined on the individual properties) will be due in cash upon arrival and returned on your departure day after inspection of the property. Should any breakage or damage occur during your stay you must inform the house manager and Jampot Villas immediately.
