Entering Casa Lila through sturdy wooden exterior double doors you will find yourself in a delightful Andalucian cobbled courtyard filled with plants, colourful flowers and a fountain.  Here begins this stunning country home filled with antiques, paintings and flooded with character in every space.  The high beamed ceilings and open plan downstairs gives light and space.  The outdoor spaces are an absolute pleasure with Jasmine, wisteria, roses and endless colours together with rolling views.  The private pool is another delight with teak sun beds, shaded areas and table tennis to enjoy.

This holiday home is perfect for a family.  It is just over 1 km into the village of Gaucin and it’s possible to walk in approximately 25 minutes.

Living / Dining / Kitchen Area

The large open plan ground floor area, giving onto the large outside terrace with views to die for,  has a high beamed ceiling and French windows leading to the outside.  To one end is a relaxing living area with sofas and armchairs an interesting collection of antique furniture plus many interesting books and enchanting ornaments.  At the other end of this large space is the kitchen area and another more relaxing sitting corner which includes the satellite television.  The inside dining area sits in the centre of these two spaces.  There is central heating, open fireplace and ceiling fans throughout the house.

The kitchen has an electric oven, 4 ring gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, coffee machine, toaster and plenty of crockery and appliances.


The main bedroom with a king-size double bed is beautifully decorated and has French doors with balconies opening out on both sides of the room.  The charming wood panelled en suite bathroom has a bath, large walk in shower, basin, toilet and bidet.

Two more delightful twin bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom and large windows opening out to the splendid countryside complete the accommodation on this side of the courtyard.

The fourth bedroom is separately located on the other side of the majestic courtyard.  Access is across the courtyard form the main house.  This has a double bed and an ensuite shower room with toilet and basin.

Outside areas

The outside area immediately leading out from the main living area is very generous and spans the whole length of this lovely house.  One side is dedicated to outside sofas and chairs while the other side has an outside dining table, suitable for 8 people.  A perfect place to relax in the shade of the pergola.

The swimming pool is accessed from this terrace.  It a salt water filtered pool measuring 12 x 6 metres with night lighting and is surrounded by splendid teak sunbeds.  There is also a gas barbeque and a table tennis table.  Enjoy the magnificent views while sipping your drinks.

Casa Lila is located in the countryside outside of Gaucin, a few minute drive from the village of Gaucin.  A car is recommend when booking this villa.   Access to the house is along a private track and parking is available on the grounds.  The village of Gaucin has traditional tapas bars and delightful restaurants.  There are also plenty of shops to be found along the narrow streets with local produce, plus larger general stores and a pharmacy.  

Gaucin is perfectly situated in the Andalucian Mountains to enjoy both the cultural and historic cities and the buzz and glamour of the coastal towns.  The mountains provide a sense of peace with wonderful walks, horse riding and many other cultural activities and art filled pleasures.  The coast being so close also allows you to explore and have some fun on the water, take your pick of many Golf courses or indulge in the boutiques and nightlife.  For more details on Gaucin and the surrounding areas please see the JamPot Villas Explore page or feel free to email.

Travelling to Gaucin

We recommend you fly into Malaga, approximately 115 km from Gaucin or Gibraltar (a little closer) approximately 58 km .  Check out skyscanner  to compare prices.  You can even fly to Jerez or Seville.  

We do recommend hiring a car while you are out here, the journey from either airport is not hard.  You can take in some of the breathtaking scenery on the way to Gaucin and the Andalucian Mountains.  

Travelling from Malaga and need a car?  Check out Sixt Car Rental.. Travelling from Gibraltar airport?  Walking across the border to Spain is quick and easy and takes you to the town of La Linea.  For car hire check out, Europcar   la Linea.

Please note, prices are dependent on the number of bedrooms required. The annexe bedroom will be closed for smaller groups paying the discounted rate for three bedrooms in the main house only. 
Changeover day is on a Saturday.
The property must be vacated by 10am.      
Arrival is at 3pm unless previously agreed with agent.
Minimum stay of 1 week.
All linen is provided including pool towels.  Linen change will be provided on rentals of more than one week.
Winter rental is also available.  Please enquire.  Central heating and fire logs are available at an extra cost and payable locally to the caretaker.

Booking Policy:

30% deposit will be required on booking.
Final 70% must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to arrival.  If your holiday commences in less than 8 weeks or if the total value of your booking is less than £200.00 / €250.00 full payment will be due when you book.

Once your reservation deposit has been received Jampot Villas will send you a booking confirmation which confirms the contract between you and the owners of the house.  If we do not receive the balance by the date outlined (8 weeks prior to arrival), we reserve the right to cancel your booking and levy the cancellation charges that are set out in the 'Cancellation Policy'.

Cancellation Policy:

If for any reason you need to cancel your booking, you must inform Jampot Villas by telephone and by email.  Your cancellation will be confirmed upon receipt of email.  If receipt of cancellation is received more than 8 weeks prior to the start of your rental date then you will forfeit your deposit.  If received within 8 to 2 weeks before the start of your rental date you will forfeit your deposit plus 40% of the total rental price will be charged.  If received within 2 weeks before the start of your rental date then you will forfeit your deposit plus the remainder 70% will be charged (the full amount is payable).

In the unlikely case that JamPot Villas has to cancel a booking we will notify you immediately and try to offer an alternative. In case of non-acceptance of the alternative by the renter, JamPot Villas will reimburse the renter all payments made and the renter loses any rights other than the reimbursement of payments made.

We do advise that you purchase suitable personal and travel insurance to cover the risk of cancellation due to ill health or force majeure.  

Damage Deposits:

Certain properties require a Damage Deposit, the amount (outlined on the individual properties) will be due in cash upon arrival and returned on your departure day after inspection of the property. Should any breakage or damage occur during your stay you must inform the house manager and Jampot Villas immediately.
