For those who prefer a more modern lifestyle, Casa Japon is the perfect zen house.  Casa Japon is single storey and flows calmly around a small Japanese style central water garden, allowing light to stream in from all directions.  The designs are crisp, modern and peaceful with all the rooms surrounding the outside of this central courtyard.  The house radiates calmness and contentment.
The splendid far reaching views across the surrounding countryside and to the amazing barren mountains of the Monte de Libar are breathtaking.
Casa Japon is on the same estate as Casa Piedra, although with 200 hectares of land and walnut orchids the houses are far enough away from each other that you feel a million miles from anyone.  This house is perfect for a honeymoon couple who just want to get away from everything and enjoy each others company or equally as perfect for a couple with small children as there are no stairs to negotiate and there are beautifully wild garden areas to play in.

Through the large front doors you arrive in the hallway that then takes you around this central courtyard.  Giving off from all sides are the bedrooms, kitchen and living area, giving a clean and easy holiday living environment.  You can also enjoy the modern luxuries of internet access and air conditioning.


The living area is comfortable and harmonious, with large double glass doors opening directly to the pool area.  There is a wood burner, television, air conditioning and internet access.


The kitchen is a superb size with plenty of work space and cupboard space.  It is equipped with all that you need for your holiday.  There is also a dining table in this area, seating six.  Large windows and double glass doors surround the outside walls allowing you to enjoy the peaceful country views and direct access to the pool and gardens.


There are two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom all with en-suite bathrooms and double French doors with access to the outside.  They are comfortable and minimal.  With little extra bathroom essential packages, you almost feel like you are in a hotel.  The rooms are just delightful.

There is also a cot available.

Outside Area

This house does have complete privacy, surrounded by the countryside and mountain views.  The private infinity pool is a delight, giving directly onto the living area.  There are sun loungers, an outside table and straw umbrellas to enjoy.  This really is a remote retreat with complete serenity - you would be foolish not to take a well earned break here!!

Extra Details

This villa is located away from civilisation, accessed by a long track, just off the road towards Cortes de la Frontera.  The area is surrounded by sprawling countryside, occupied by horses, cattle, goats and sheep, this is a true adventure.  A car is essential for this villa due to its remote location.  Casa Japon is at least a 30 minute drive to the typical Spanish town of Cortes and the popular village of Gaucin is a 35 minute drive away.  It is a wonderful drive, just breathe the pure air and listen to the never ending sounds of nature at its best.  Cortes is a small delightful village with shops, bars, restaurants and it even has its own small bull ring.  
The mountains provide a sense of peace with wonderful walks, horse riding and many other cultural activities and art filled pleasures.  The coast being so close also allows you to explore and have some fun on the water, take your pick of many golf courses or indulge in the boutiques and nightlife. For details on Gaucin and the surrounding areas please see the JamPot Villas Explore page.

Travelling to Cortes de la Frontera

We recommend you fly into Malaga, approximately 140 km from Casa Piedra or Gibraltar (a little closer) approximately 75 km from Casa Piedra.  Check outskyscanner  to compare prices.  You can even fly to Jerez or Seville.  

We do recommend hiring a car while you are out here, the journey from either airport is not hard.  You can take in some of the breathtaking scenery on the way to Gaucin and the Andalucian Mountains.  

Travelling from Malaga and need a car?  Check out Sixt Car Rental.. Travelling from Gibraltar airport?  Walking across the border to Spain is quick and easy and takes you to the town of La Linea.  For car hire check out, Europcar   la Linea.

Prices, Booking and Cancellation Policies

Price Per Week

Sep '20 - Dec '20 £1,750.00
April '21 - June '21 £1,750.00
June '21 - Sep '21 £2,200.00

Changeover day is a Saturday but may be flexible, please enquire.
Arrival time is 4pm unless previously agreed with the agent.
The property must be vacated by 11am.
All linen and towels are provided and a change will be made on rentals of more than one week.

Booking Policy:

30% deposit will be required on booking.
Final 70% must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to arrival.  If your holiday commences in less than 8 weeks or if the total value of your booking is less than £200.00 / €250.00 full payment will be due when you book.

Once your reservation deposit has been received Jampot Villas will send you a booking confirmation which confirms the contract between you and the owners of the house.  If we do not receive the balance by the date outlined (8 weeks prior to arrival), we reserve the right to cancel your booking and levy the cancellation charges that are set out in the 'Cancellation Policy'.

Cancellation Policy:

If for any reason you need to cancel your booking, you must inform Jampot Villas by telephone and by email.  Your cancellation will be confirmed upon receipt of email.  If receipt of cancellation is received more than 8 weeks prior to the start of your rental date then you will forfeit your deposit.  If received within 8 to 2 weeks before the start of your rental date you will forfeit your deposit plus 40% of the total rental price will be charged.  If received within 2 weeks before the start of your rental date then you will forfeit your deposit plus the remainder 70% will be charged (the full amount is payable).

In the unlikely case that JamPot Villas has to cancel a booking we will notify you immediately and try to offer an alternative. In case of non-acceptance of the alternative by the renter, JamPot Villas will reimburse the renter all payments made and the renter loses any rights other than the reimbursement of payments made.

We do advise that you purchase suitable personal and travel insurance to cover the risk of cancellation due to ill health or force majeure.  

Damage Deposits:

Certain properties require a Damage Deposit, the amount (outlined on the individual properties) will be due in cash upon arrival and returned on your departure day after inspection of the property. Should any breakage or damage occur during your stay you must inform the house manager and Jampot Villas immediately.
