Casa Cayena is found hidden in the mountains not far from the village of Gaucin. This gorgeous and sophisticated house is found at the end of short private driveway after entering through large iron gates. The outside areas are endless with beautifully kept gardens, potted flowers and lush country grounds. The pool area is wonderfully hidden. As you walk through the grounds of oak, olive and carob trees you will find this divine area set down from the house. The views are superb inside and outside and perfectly placed to enjoy the sunshine all day. The inside is spacious with sunlight bouncing through the colour filled rooms. The care and love the owners have given to this house is evident, creating a home and a striking place to spend a holiday of relaxation and fun.

Living Area

The living room, centrally located on the ground floor level, leads directly out to the terraces and immaculate gardens. Large french windows allow the sunlight and fresh mountain breeze to stream through this peaceful room. The furniture is more than comfortable with striking textures and colours. Antique pieces, grand book shelves and a central fireplace all create an aura of elegance. You can also enjoy the use of the stereo with an ipod connection to the speakers, plus wifi which reaches throughout the house.

Kitchen / Dining Area

The kitchen is a fabulous size for the house with a dining table seating up to eight plus sofas and armchairs creating a living space of its own with an open fireplace and flat screen television. Easily accessible to the gardens and stunning Moroccan influenced courtyard where some al fresco dining can be enjoyed. Once again this room embraces an inspirational mix of colours with sunlight streaming through the windows and French doors that surround the room.

Nothing is lacking in this well equipped room with an impressive double oven and cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer and all the china and crockery you should find in a grand country house like this. Plus a few eccentric designs and stylish pieces enhancing the character of this house. There is also a separate pantry behind the kitchen with a larder and additional storage. There is a washing machine and dryer hidden in the large cupboards located in the master bathroom.


The master bedroom is on the ground floor with a terrace leading into the garden and luxurious king size bed. Both the bedroom area and the en-suite bathroom are finished with exquisite style and detail. The bathroom, also with direct access to the grounds has an impressive central bath, Moroccan style shower, and a dressing room with custom made cupboards. Enjoy the romantic open fireplace in the winter months and the air conditioning for the hotter nights. There is also an entrance hall leading directly to the master bedroom providing some privacy.

Through the charming hallway and up the elegant staircase is the twin room and double bedroom. The twin room is decorated in a calming blue with an en-suite bathroom. The double bedroom is at the end of the landing area, full of bright colours and a large fireplace. This also has a private terrace accessed through this bathroom. Both these rooms have a bath with hand held shower and a soft and chic ambience. The views are incredible from each room, looking over the immaculate gardens, dramatic mountains and across the sea to the Riff mountains of Africa.

There is also a separate bathroom beside the hallway, with an Moroccan touch, a walk in arched shower, brass basin and delicate touches.

The main house sleeps six.

Outside area

This luxurious villa nestled in the countryside has two hectares of grounds with a stunning landscape surroundings it. The views are dramatic and uninterrupted. The outdoor spaces are endless with immaculate gardens, beautiful flowers and an abundance of mature trees and shrubs providing a lush and divine setting. The grounds are set on three levels with the main house gracefully positioned on the top level looking south towards the magnificent views and days of sunshine. Along the front of the house is a mosaic paved terrace with a caned veranda, a lounging area and breakfast table. This leads out to the beginning of the beautiful gardens and to the next level. Down some small steps is the large garden area with deck chairs and a peaceful gazebo.

Situated off the kitchen is a charming cobbled courtyard with a dining table seating up to fourteen. This area is bliss, with a Moroccan influence in its style and quirky features. This is filled with colourful cushions, flowers, a palm tree and grand wooden Spanish doors creating the entrance to the property.

The pool area is captivating and found by walking down through the shrubs and trees along a pathway made by numerous steps embedded into the sloping countryside. The pool area is secluded with its own private gardens, a terraced dining area under a splendid carob tree and once again fabulous views. The pool itself is a wonderful 12m x 5m with plenty of loungers and parasols. There is also a built in barbeque making it very easy to enjoy the warm evenings with the beautiful night lighting and serene lit pool.

Next to the pool is also a self-contained pool house with an absorbing Moroccan decor, finished with turquoise arches, textured materials and colourful artefacts. There is a double bed inside, wood burner, bathroom and kitchenette equipped with crockery, a four ring gas hob, microwave and kettle. Outside is a shaded area with a daybed and rattan armchairs, perfectly situated to relax next to the pool, admire the setting and take in the ambience. This casita sleeps two and has all the essentials, plus plenty of privacy away from the main house.

You can also make use of the table tennis that is there for some fun.

The pool area and casita can also be reached from the driveway before the main house. Parking is also available here.

Travelling to Gaucin

We recommend you fly into Malaga, approximately 115 km from Gaucin or Gibraltar (a little closer) approximately 58 km .  Check out skyscanner  to compare prices.  You can even fly to Jerez or Seville.  

We do recommend hiring a car while you are out here, the journey from either airport is not hard.  You can take in some of the breathtaking scenery on the way to Gaucin and the Andalucian Mountains.  

Travelling from Malaga and need a car?  Check out Sixt Car Rental.. Travelling from Gibraltar airport?  Walking across the border to Spain is quick and easy and takes you to the town of La Linea.  For car hire check out, Europcar   la Linea.

Prices, Booking and Cancellation Policies

Please note on pricing;
Sleeping 2 - the upstairs will be closed off.
Sleeping 3/4 - Based on the use of two bedrooms.
Sleeping 6+2 - Based on 6 guests in the main house and 2 guests in the pool house.

Changeover day is Friday but flexible out of high season. Please enquire.
Arrival time is 4pm and the property must be vacated by 11am.
All linen is provided including pool towels. A change of linen is provided on rentals of over 1 week.
A welcome hamper is provided on your arrival containing provisions for instant snacks and for the following morning's breakfast.

Booking Policy:

30% deposit will be required on booking.
Final 70% must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to arrival.  If your holiday commences in less than 8 weeks or if the total value of your booking is less than £200.00 / €250.00 full payment will be due when you book.

Once your reservation deposit has been received Jampot Villas will send you a booking confirmation which confirms the contract between you and the owners of the house.  If we do not receive the balance by the date outlined (8 weeks prior to arrival), we reserve the right to cancel your booking and levy the cancellation charges that are set out in the 'Cancellation Policy'.

Cancellation Policy:

If for any reason you need to cancel your booking, you must inform Jampot Villas by telephone and by email.  Your cancellation will be confirmed upon receipt of email.  If receipt of cancellation is received more than 8 weeks prior to the start of your rental date then you will forfeit your deposit.  If received within 8 to 2 weeks before the start of your rental date you will forfeit your deposit plus 40% of the total rental price will be charged.  If received within 2 weeks before the start of your rental date then you will forfeit your deposit plus the remainder 70% will be charged (the full amount is payable).

In the unlikely case that JamPot Villas has to cancel a booking we will notify you immediately and try to offer an alternative. In case of non-acceptance of the alternative by the renter, JamPot Villas will reimburse the renter all payments made and the renter loses any rights other than the reimbursement of payments made.

We do advise that you purchase suitable personal and travel insurance to cover the risk of cancellation due to ill health or force majeure.  

Damage Deposits:

Certain properties require a Damage Deposit, the amount (outlined on the individual properties) will be due in cash upon arrival and returned on your departure day after inspection of the property. Should any breakage or damage occur during your stay you must inform the house manager and Jampot Villas immediately.
