Casa Carob is a unique home full of character. The owner is an artist and has spent many years building her home, decorating the villa with original art work and individual items that have been collected over the years. All creating this homely and individual space.

Casa Carob is Surrounded by 5 acres overlooking the natural mountainside, over to the sea and the coastline of Africa, with not a neighbour in sight. The finca used to be an almond farm and has figs, carobs and olives as well as plenty of almond trees. The outside areas and pool are idyllic with a large 8m x 4m private pool and a partly covered roof top terrace – perfect for star gazing. Wifi is available and parking is outside the house. This really is a home from home.

Living/Dining/Kitchen

At the heart of the house is an open plan kitchen/dining/sitting area with glass skylight giving a bright and airy feeling. The kitchen is hand made from oak and well equipped with stove and oven, 5 ring hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, toaster, microwave and plenty of dishes and utensils. Large glass double doors lead onto a vine covered terrace and another set of glass double doors lead into the sitting room/TV room with DVD, DVD library, games, books and fireplace.

Bedrooms

The master bedroom is located on the entrance level where the living and dining area is situated. With a king size four poster bed and windows facing easterly allowing fabulous sunrises to be admired. On the same level is a bedroom with a single bed. These rooms are accessed by a small hallway connecting them to the bathroom with separate shower and bath tub. Down external steps, beside the pool area, are two further bedrooms with double beds and a shower room, accessed via a covered terrace.

Outside Areas

The large partly covered top roof terrace with 360 degree mountain and sea views is an amazing place to have an early evening drink and enjoy the sunset. There is a table and chairs to dine or simply relax. The vine covered lower patio just off the dining area has a sofa arm chairs and large mosaic coffee table. There are many mature plants and climbers around most of the house. The private swimming pool, 8m x 4m, located beside the 2 bedrooms on the lower level is accessed by steps. It is beautifully built, surrounded by natural stone and a decking at the far end.

The rest of the land is ripe for investigation, there are many amazing walks directly from the house including the old smugglers track from Gibraltar.

Please note, there are three cats living at the property, they are very friendly and are not the guests responsibility though they may be around.

Extra Details:

This villa is Located in the countryside.  A car is recommended, particularly if you are looking to explore the area.  Gaucin itself is perfectly situated in the Andalucian Mountains to enjoy both the cultural and historic cities and the buzz and glamour of the coastal towns.  The mountains provide a sense of peace with wonderful walks, horse riding and many other cultural activities and art filled pleasures.  The coast being so close also allows you to explore and have some fun on the water, take your pick of many golf courses or indulge in the boutiques and nightlife. For details on Gaucin and the surrounding areas please see the JamPot Villas Explore page.

My family of 5, our 3 kids aged, 7, 7 and 8 in age and my wife and I absolutely loved this place. The pictures can’t capture the amazing setting this place is in. Gaucin is beautiful as re the neighbouring towns. The house was a home form home. The setting was quiet and peaceful. Sae loads of wildlife including eagles and wild Boars! I’m normally ready to go home after being away 10 days but none of us wanted to leave.

Travel

Travelling to Gaucin

We recommend you fly into Malaga, approximately 115 km from Gaucin or Gibraltar (a little closer) approximately 58 km .  Check out skyscanner  to compare prices.  You can even fly to Jerez or Seville.  

We do recommend hiring a car while you are out here, the journey from either airport is not hard.  You can take in some of the breathtaking scenery on the way to Gaucin and the Andalucian Mountains.  

Travelling from Malaga and need a car?  Check out Sixt Car Rental.. Travelling from Gibraltar airport?  Walking across the border to Spain is quick and easy and takes you to the town of La Linea.  For car hire check out, Europcar   la Linea.

Prices, Booking and Cancellation Policies

Price Per Week

Changeover day is on a Saturday.
The property must be vacated by 10am.      
Arrival is at 4pm unless previously agreed with agent.
Minimum stay of 1 week.
All linen is provided including pool towels.  Linen change will be provided on rentals of more than one week.


Booking Policy:

30% deposit will be required on booking.
Final 70% must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to arrival.  If your holiday commences in less than 8 weeks or if the total value of your booking is less than £200.00 / €250.00 full payment will be due when you book.

Once your reservation deposit has been received Jampot Villas will send you a booking confirmation which confirms the contract between you and the owners of the house.  If we do not receive the balance by the date outlined (8 weeks prior to arrival), we reserve the right to cancel your booking and levy the cancellation charges that are set out in the 'Cancellation Policy'.


Cancellation Policy:

If for any reason you need to cancel your booking, you must inform Jampot Villas by telephone and by email.  Your cancellation will be confirmed upon receipt of email.  If receipt of cancellation is received more than 8 weeks prior to the start of your rental date then you will forfeit your deposit.  If received within 8 to 2 weeks before the start of your rental date you will forfeit your deposit plus 40% of the total rental price will be charged.  If received within 2 weeks before the start of your rental date then you will forfeit your deposit plus the remainder 70% will be charged (the full amount is payable).

In the unlikely case that JamPot Villas has to cancel a booking we will notify you immediately and try to offer an alternative. In case of non-acceptance of the alternative by the renter, JamPot Villas will reimburse the renter all payments made and the renter loses any rights other than the reimbursement of payments made.

We do advise that you purchase suitable personal and travel insurance to cover the risk of cancellation due to ill health or force majeure.  


Damage Deposits:

Certain properties require a Damage Deposit, the amount (outlined on the individual properties) will be due in cash upon arrival and returned on your departure day after inspection of the property. Should any breakage or damage occur during your stay you must inform the house manager and Jampot Villas immediately.
